A cute, simple way to make a family birthday party special, or, a fun decorating craft for kids to do at a birthday party. I made these hats for my Daughter's 1st Birthday Party. I really wasn't much of a party to be honest. I must admit I feel kind of bad. My first Daughter got a huge party in the backyard, with lots of friends and an entire "Yellow" theme. Now THAT was a party to blog about. My other daughter, well, she got cute hats. Here's how to make them:
12x12 craft paper - mixed designs
colored feathers, pom poms, stickers, glitter, pipe cleaners, what ever!
Get yourself some cheapo hats at the dollar store. It doesn't matter what's on them. In fact, I used Christmas hats. Cover the hats with your choice of craft paper, hot glue them, and then trim the bottom. You can make up a bunch of these head of time for kids to decorate, if you are doing them as a craft for a party. Just use white glue with the kids, not the hot glue gun (of course.) Then, just go at it with decorations! I just used whatever I had already. You can use what I did, or go to a craft store and go crazy! So many fun things to put on hats!!! Have fun!
